Celebrity Cruises has announced that its newest ship, the 2,850-passenger Celebrity Solstice, will enter service three weeks early with three additional cruise departures.  The ship’s inaugural voyage will now be a one-week Nov. 23, 2008 Thanksgiving cruise followed by Nov. 30 and Dec. 7 departures.

The Norwegian Spirit had a fender bender this morning when returning to the city after a Caribbean cruise.  Turning into Pier 90 at the Manhattan port facility, the ship hit the parking lot on the upper level of the pier.  According to firemen, no one was injured.
