If you love Carnival Cruise Lines, plan to have a lot more fun starting Sept. 12, 2009 when the 130,000-ton Carnival Dream enters service. The largest “Fun Ship” in Carnival’s fleet will carry 3,646 passengers and boast new features such as an indoor/outdoor Piazza, a cafe with live music; expanded children’s facilities including a Water’Works aqua park; whirlpools extending over the ship’s beam and family apartments.

New Stateroom Categories

Two bathroom deluxe ocean-view staterooms will offer families more room, a full-size bathroom and another with a “junior tub” with shower and sink.  Another category will include “cove” balcony staterooms located closer to the water line.  And, adjacent to the Cloud 9 Spa will be 65 spa staterooms and suites which will offer passengers exclusive amenities and privileges.

New Entertainment, Fitness & Dining Venues

The ship’s heart will be The Piazza, with floor-to-ceiling curved glass separating the area into indoor and outdoor seating areas.  During the day it will be an indoor/outdoor cafe while at night, a live music venue with a large circular dance floor.  A full half-mile promenade deck will encircle the ship for those who like to walk fast or spend a leisurely day on a deck chair. 

Carnival Dream’s Itineraries

Carnival Dream will enter service Sept. 21, 2009 with three 12-day Mediterranean cruises before making a 16-day crossing from Rome to New York.  From New York, the ship will sail on two eight-day Bahamas/Florida cruises departing Nov. 15 and 23. 

Beginning Dec. 5, 2009 Carnival Dream will sail on year-round cruises from Port Canaveral, Fla to the Eastern and Western Caribbean on alternating seven day voyages.   Eastern Caribbean cruises visit Nassau; St. Thomas and St. Maarten while on the Western route the ship will call in Cozumel; Belize; Costa Maya and Nassau.
