I can compare RCI's food with its competitors, however. Carnival invested huge amounts of money and staff to upgrading its food and I personally like it a great deal. So in this price range Carnival is best. Royal Caribbean's lunchtime buffet was very mediocre with limited selections (there are other free areas to eat on the ship, however). Head for the outdoor spa/garden restaurant which is a lovely setting and better food (and free). Dinner in the main dining room was ok, not great not bad. I wouldn't call Royal Caribbean's food bad, certainly, and lots of people return raving about their cruise vacation on RCI as a whole. Given all the money the cruise line puts into its amazing ships I wish they'd upgrade the food. But Oasis is a one-of-a-kind ship and it really sounds like what you want, I suggest trying it anyway.
