For this cruiser food is THE priority so I'm probably not the right person to ask. I can compare RCI's food with its competitors, however.
Carnival invested huge amounts of money and staff to upgrading its food and I personally like it a great deal. So in this price range Carnival is best. Royal Caribbean's lunchtime buffet was very mediocre with limited selections (there are other free areas to eat on the ship, however). Head for the outdoor spa/garden restaurant which is a lovely setting and better food (and free). Dinner in the main dining room was ok, not great not bad.

I wouldn't call Royal Caribbean's food bad, certainly, and lots of people return raving about their cruise vacation on RCI as a whole. Given all the money the cruise line puts into its amazing ships I wish they'd upgrade the food. But Oasis is a one-of-a-kind ship and it really sounds like what you want, I suggest trying it anyway. Everyone I encounter loves it.

Hi .... All activities are free, including zip line, basketball, use of the gym, etc. And the shows are too (some you should reserve before you go on Royal Caribbean's website). Yes, I do believe there's a "soda card", which gives you unlimited amounts of soda and club soda (only from the fountains in bars). The rate is probably on RCI's web site.

I was wondering what to do for drinks? like bottle water for example, I heard theres some kind of card you can get that lets you have a certain amount of drinks per day, is this true? Was also wondering what activities are free.
Thanks !

Kids through 18 have separate play areas with supervised activities so I don't think you'll notice them. If you like variety in nightlife and dining, if you don't mind walking substantial distances, this is a terrific ship.

We are seniors. would we find the oasis (or allure) have way too many children? Or do the kids stay mostly in their own areas? (we have taken 15+ cruises and would prefer to not be surrounded by children). Or should we book a different ship? Thanks.

[...] On Allure of the Seas, Royal Caribbean will debut a new production show, “Chicago: The Musical”, 3-D movies, the first Starbucks at Sea plus a new Mexican restaurant and hot dog venue named the Boardwalk Dog House. For more in-depth information I suggest reading the review of sister ship Oasis of the Seas.
