Anne, in addition to my last comment, i had another question, if it IS the Victoria Prince cruise you were taken during 2008, i will thank you for this feedback, i book a lot of cruises, sometimes i rely on my customers or online reviews to know the current situation of a vessel. As lonely planet book said, Good things go bad, and bad went to hell. One have to check latest reviews.

There is actually another cruise company in China use Victoria as its cruise ship's name, i won't mention the name. I have doubt that you are on the real Victoria cruise, because the ship Victoria Prince is supposed to be 5 star, and at least there is an native English cruise director onboard, and rest of the staff speak fairly good English.
Anne, do you recall the cruise ship's name? is there a balcony in your cabin?

*Great* story! I could never match that one, but *loved* the story about the phone call. Reminds me of the miscommunication my sister went through with her cabin steward in her suite on the Carnival Spirit.

She left a note and asked him to leave the trash can out, instead of putting it under the furniture. What did he do? Took it.
