It's wonderful to figure out how to look great on a cruise without a lot of fuss. I love Issey Miyake's pleats separates because they are impossible to wrinkle and take up no room in the bag. Thanks to Ebay I can afford a few pieces. You're right, while we see our whole body, others see the upper half especially when I'm wearing black on the lower part of my body.

I always carry a pad with me when I go shopping. When I come across an item I love, I write down the name, size and price. Then it's home to check the "Ebay price".

Kudos on the Ebay savings, and your thoughts about accessorizing a black skirt or black evening pants goes along the lines of my strategy, too. For a 7-night cruise, I bring a suit, and two pairs of slacks -- one black, and (usually) one gray. Good and neutral - and non-descript. It's what's *above* the waist that counts -- that's how they see you at dinner, the shows and in the casino. Consequently, I bring a different shirt for each night (and often times recycle it to be worn the next day). Saves a lot on the buying and the planning. For the suit, a different shirt color and different tie makes it look fresh.
