My husband & I took a cruise in 2004 and had a good time so decided to go on one in Oct, 2010. So called up there sale people send it up and was told are birth certificates where fine. So we got down there and my certificate didn't have vital statics number on back so wouldn't let us go. NO REFUND or REBOOKING. Its the same documents we use last time why know good this time? And if they change there rules why not tell us when we talk to them and set it up? Couldn't get know answers. SO BE CARFUL!!! OR lose lots of money like we did

It's a very dangerous place! My wife and 11 yr old daughter were mugged on their first day. (in front of the hotel/Cable Beach) The Police were no help, and almost impossible to communicate with. On the way home, two passengers behind my wife on the plane had been mugged on their 2nd day there. Same spot! Reserch this place before you go.

the bahamas is the same as other ports Jamaica and others. I have been there on cruises and even flown there, stayed at the Hilton downtown and found the people to be friendly and engaging. Just use caution, the same you would do anywhere else. I watched as a few tourists from the cruiseships approach this guy who i wouldn't even say hi too and ask for drugs. You wouldn't do that back home so why do it when you are away.Just be cautious and not stupid.

MY 2 KIDS AND I WENT ON A 4 DAYS CRUISE WITH CARNIVAL ON NOV 29, 2009 AND WHEN WE GOT TO NASSAU AND GOT OFF THE SHIP IT WAS CRAZY AND SCARY THE PEOPLE THERE ARE RUDE AND ACT LIKE THEY DONT UNDERSTAND NO. MY KIDS AND I FELT UNSAFE AFTER WALKING TO THE STRAW MARKET AND AROUND SO WE HURRIED BACK TO THE SHIP AND STAYED THERE. I DO BELIVE FOR SAFTEY REASONS THAT NO CRUISE LINE SHOULD GO THERE. I LIVE NEAR WASHINGTION DC AND NASSAU IS WORSE I THINK.

In November 2009 we were on the Carnival Destiny going to the western Carribean. They changed our itinerary to Nassau and Half Moon Cay. I've been to Nassau before and felt they weren't safe 6 years ago and still feel the same now. I say take it off the cruiselines port of call before someone really gets hurt.
