That's wonderful. My favorite Panama Canal is a partial transit, ten days instead of 14. Ship sails round-trip from Florida and sails to
Gatun Lake and stops for shore excursions in Panama for those who want them. Both Princess & Royal Caribbean sail this from November through end of March.

I just wanted to check back Anne with what I have been doing cruising wise since I last posted.

I went on a Caribbean cruise last December and you were right what a great deal I got. I still haven't done the Panama Canal but managed to go from Sydney Australia to Auckland New Zealand which was awesome.

Cruising has been just wonderful and the best holidays. I didn't even get seasick once.

I agree again with you there Anne about the food and also I must add that I prefer the bigger ships as I get seasick (but manage that well with meds). The bigger ships to me also offer more variety for things to do and see so by your recommendation I will have to look for a good deal for the Caribbean or Mexico (although I have done both already lol). To top that all off I am from Australia so I have the cost of the airfare as well and accommodation to consider.

The Panama Canal cruise isnt on your list but what do you think of those prices for 2008 or even 2009? That is on my 'to do list'.

Thanks Pauline.....The best deals this year will be in the Caribbean, Mexico and the short three- and four-day Bahamas cruises. Personally, I'd take a ship I wouldn't ordinarily take to get out of town for a week. But I wouldn't take a vessel where I know the food and service -- important to me, especially -- are dreadful.

Anne you have some great information and tips there and I agree that although my dollar will be stretched tighter this year I still plan on going on a cruise as its the best value vacation going.

I may dig a little deeper for best deal and work at planning and implementing my budget a bit more to do it but I will still be cruising in the future.

I am really enjoying your blog
