Ok, thank you. I think the younger/luxury market is important and good to see they are attracting these folks.

I recommend Regent Seven Seas Cruises, which attracts younger passengers and isn't as dressy as the other cruise lines. Regent has many one-week Europe itineraries so you can combine itineraries as well.

In terms of figuring out the ages of passengers are likely to sail, it's not cost but the length of voyage. The youngest passengers are on cruises under a week, the oldest passengers (probably Crystal) frequent sailings that are 7+ days and tend to be retired.

Great post Anne.

Question: Are you aware if any of these luxury cruise lines actively marketing to younger couples (30s and 40s)? For example one of the turnoffs for younger folks is the dress code. As you've pointed out, most of these ships' passengers are very dressy.

The younger couples/single adults who want luxury but not 'stuffy' cruise experience is a market that I think is ignored by luxury cruise lines.

Thanks!

Don't forget the small luxury ship companies like Quasar Expeditions (see http://www.galapagosexpeditions.com). You get individualized attention and custom itineraries in addition to great food and tours.
