I for some reason didn't realise there was a lot of cruises available from New York, but as I'll be there this summer, you've got me thinking about some new tour options!

I took a look at your other site - nice website. Yes, that 8 day Princess itinerary does look good.

Thanks Anne!

FYI ... during the winter both NCL and Royal Caribbean offer longer Caribbean itineraries that bypass the Bahamas

On a seven-day itinerary ships can't go any further than Florida & the Bahamas. However, NCL & the other cruise lines have longer itineraries that do reach the Caribbean and bypass the Bahamas. Princess has a terrific eight-day itinerary from New York that has a good itinerary.

Suggest that you visit my other website, Cruising From New York which lists all ships and itineraries from the three ports of New York (Manhattan, Brooklyn and Bayonne, NJ)

As a resident New Yorker who's always cruised from Florida, I've wondered the same thing.

But you make some good points - mostly the hassle of flying, especially in winters, is quite unbearable.

I think if Cruise lines went to somewhere else besides Nassau, that might be just what pushes me (& I assume other New Yorkers) into cruising from home.
